Frequently asked questions

Does Dr. Walsh take my insurance?

Dr. Walsh does not bill insurance companies. This means she does not accept insurance.   Dr. Walsh is  considered an "out of network" provider for insurance companies. It is expected that  payment is provided at the time of the service by the patient which can then be submitted to the individual's insurance company by the patient. Many insurance companies will reimburse the patient for services rendered after paperwork is submitted for review. A medical Benefits Claim form can be obtained from the insurance company or employer.  It is recommended that people check with their insurance to verify out of network coverage and reimbursement procedures.

DOES DR. WALSH ACCEPT MEDICARE?

Dr. Walsh is not a participating Medicare provider.  Dr. Walsh cannot accept new Medicare patients because she is not a Medicare provider.  Even if a person is willing to pay for the appointment without any insurance information, Dr. Walsh cannot see new Medicare patients.

WHAT ARE THE APPOINTMENT FEES?

The appointment fees are listed in the APPOINTMENT section of the website.  An account can be set up to schedule online appointments and the fee for each type of office visit is outlined.  The first appointment is a NEW PATIENT appointment and the first follow-up is an EXTENDED visit.  After that, the appointments can be the duration of what you decide - Dr. Walsh adheres to the appointment times as best possible.

Does Dr. Walsh have hospital privileges?

Dr. Walsh has privileges at INOVA Loudoun Hospital.

What happens if I am hospitalized?

Physicians who are called hospitalists will manage and care for patients while they are in the hospital. Commonwealth Inpatient Physicians, P.C. care for many of the patients at Loudoun Hospital. The hospital based physician will contact Dr. Walsh when someone is hospitalized and ongoing communication through the time of discharge will continue.

What happens if I am sick in the middle of the night or on a weekend?

If you need emergency care, you should go to the nearest emergency room for evaluation and treatment. If you feel you can wait until the next day, you may call early in morning to schedule an appointment or you may schedule an appointment online.
